|

Hi
In the 48772 sudokus from Royle's database, 48123 have a unique solution grid. So if we want to find new 17 clue sudokus, I think we must begin to choose a good new solution grid. There are 5 472 730 538 essentially different grids.
After reading this article : http://www.math.ie/checker.html
I am asking:
Is it a good idea to choose the grid with the littlest MCN "maximal clique number" to have few constraints choosing the givens?
Thank you for advice |

You could consider the fully entwined grids which once upon a time were thought to be promising.
I must say I'm completely out of touch on 17-searching, though, so the FE grids might be a waste of time ... |
