I've written a game called Sudoku Deathmatch. As well as doing the usual random generation of Sudoku puzzles (from sizes 4x4 up to 25 x 25), it also features both single and multi player modes.
Single player is a simple Sudoku puzzle solver, but multi player allows many people play against each other over a network or over the internet. One player sets up as a server, with a simple one-click procedure, and all other players connect to the server using it's IP address.
There are also optional "Power Ups" that give the players cheeky little weapons to use against each other, such as hiding some of the numbers on other players boards, or wiping out some of the squares they've filled in. Whether or not to enable these features is up to ther person running the server.
Sudoku Deathmatch is written in Java, using SWT for the UI and Java RMI for the network code, if anyone is interested.
You can download it at http://www.skynet.ie/~sos/sudokudeathmatch.htm
It's completely free, I just did it for a little fun.
It runs on all versions of Windows at the moment, with a Linux version on the way.
All feedback welcome.
