How difficult would it be to add Diagional puzzle solving to a solver?
By Diagional Puzzle I mean a puzzle where cells that are located on the grid diagionals (from top-left to bottom-right, and top-right to bottom-left) must also only contains digits 1-9.

I'm only thinking of solving them - not generating them.

I'm thinking that it would be difficult, because the diagional puzzle structure would redefine what an X-Wing is, what Colouring is, what a conjugate is, etc...

What do you think?

Kranser.

For solving diagonal puzzles only quite simple additions are needed to the solver, see http://www.setbb.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=119&mforum=sudoku
Adding subset detection for the diagonals is also straightforward.
The block/column/row interaction and x-wing techniques are still valid.
