Hi Angus,
Your SimpleSudoku version 4.1z now requires usage of the XY-Wing technique to solve extreme puzzles. However, your help file does not (yet, I hope) mention what this technique is. I learned it from the docu available at SadMan Sudoku.
Besides, there is (as of now) no German version of the help file, although there is a German version of the game itself. I believe that somebody has to translate the complete help file and then replace the help file in use with the translated one (unless you change the program to open a different help file depending on the language setting). Being a German native speaker, I would volunteer to do such a translation, but that would require the uncompiled version of the help file (that is, unless there is somebody working on it already).
Greetings,

You're right, the current help file is in desperate need of updating. Anyhow, my hints webpage ( http://angusj.com/sudoku/hints.php ) is much more up-to-date.

That's right. I don't want to support multiple help files because it's too much work for what is purely a hobby of mine. If you would like to translate my hints webpage I'm happy for you to do that, as long as you acknowledge the source and link back to it. (I may even provide a link to it from my webpage.)

Thank you. I took the liberty of saving the page you mentioned in your answer and translating just the text into German, leaving all your links and pictures unchanged so anyone following them will reach the same pages as if (s)he were following it from the original.
Now I end up with a html file and a folder with all the images. I would like to send this to you. Where should I send it, and should I make a .chm file before doing so? Also, I would like to translate the pieces about xy-wing and multicolours as well because your program is using these techniques. I would use the forum postings you made in this forum, again leaving all the links and images as they are.
Greetings from the opposite side of the globe

Hi again Dralex.
You could post the link to your translation here. If it's well done I'll be happy to link to it from my Simple Sudoku webpage. However, I don't want to host multiple translations on my own website.

Hi,
Long time no hear, but alas I do not have webspace where to post the German translation of your help file.
Another question (which is probably in the wrong forum right now): Is there (or will there ever be) a way to change not only the size but also the font for Simple Sudoku?

Hi again Dralex. Firstly, this is the right forum to ask. No, there's never likely going to be an option to change the font. |
