Hi,
How about an optional activity log window (just simple text,
which should be copyable) which would record moves (as to
undo, either back up or emit an "undo" line), and (for F11)
reasons for doing the move. You might want to optionally
timestamp each line, or put a start timestamp and a
finish timestamp. If the log started with a copy of the
puzzle, it would be a self-contained (and emailable :)
copy of everything.
If you envision that the log could be used for submitting
questions to you later, you might want to make the
window appendable by the player, so he/she could enter
comments (the program's comments would always just get
appended to the end as each line is generated).
(If you're going that far, I'd prefix each line in some manner
so that software could easily determine if the line is a
comment or action ... some comments might include
program version, game difficulty, etc.)
I like that F11 sometimes shows the reason on the
bottom line ... but it seems to forget to mention the
reason when it's a fairly simple one, forcing me to undo
the F11 and then study the cell to determine why it
chose the action ... that was the genesis of the
log enhancement request.
Since this is my first post: Great program!
thanks,
