Into Sudoku (english/german/dutch/french)

Hi,

I created Into Sudoku, a sudoku generator/solver. The program is written in C++/MFC. The program support a lot solving techniques with documentation. Some unique features are chain drawing (see second image below), online puzzle collection and searching the hardest sudoku. The level of the puzzles vari from very simple, to extremely hard puzzles. The program supports copy/paste from forums in most formats. There are no minimum requirements. The program runs on all versions of Windows, and it even runs on Linux under WINE if Internet Explorere is installed. The program supports English, German and Dutch.

I updated this post for version 1.83.

I am working on version 1.84, which includes a French translation and a nice new feature to locate all the backdoors of a puzzle! A backdoor is a candidate which breaks a very hard puzzle into a very easy one. Most puzzles contain several backdoors. Finding these will help you solve the puzzle in the shortest possible path. The beta for version 1.84 is only available on the forum of Into Sudoku, it will be released in a few weeks.

Tonight I released version 1.86. Into Sudoku is now also optimized for Quad Core cpu's and it should work perfectly on Windows Vista.

New solving techniques have not been added since 2006.

Yes, chains solve puzzles. They are the last step before brute force.

We ae trying to use the trial version of the software and are getting Microsoft Software execution errors... you know the ones where the program is doing something wrong and Microsoft asks if you want the details sent to them.

I have tried to un-install and also tried the earlier version, both encountered the same problem.

Any advice? I am running Windows XP Pro 2002 Service Pack 2. I will check at Microsoft if there are any porgram updates for me but other than that I don't know what to do.

Suggestions?
