|
|
Hi all;
you can find a free, fast and visually entertaining Java solver
applet at http://sudoku.klaas.nl.
It contains built-in puzzles so just pressing the <Solve>
button will give you a nice animation quickly resulting in
the solved Soduku. Of course, you can type in your own, then have it solved reliably.
The application has a slider (to the very right of the screen) that
controls the speed (up=fast).
There is a possibility to turn on 'optimization' (making it work more
like a human would). On my machines, solving can be done so fast, the
animation is almost invisible.
By the way: I am still interested in puzzles to add to the Java applet!
Mail me at sudoku@klaas.nl.
PS: the new version has slider to control speed, new built-in puzzles,
a progress bar. Actually, complete overhaul
(using Java Swing for you Java guys)

Don't forget to check out the new version! The newest version
(july 11) makes it *real* simple to enter yoyr own puzzle
(using either mouse or keyboard).
The new version has a number of Windows-like menu structures
giving help, optimization options etc.

The new version even allows you to save (store) your puzzle,
so you can discuss your solution or progress with others
or continue working on it any other moment in time.
The puzzle-entry (although it has a number of built-in puzzles)
for your own puzzles is much simpler since you can use the keyboard
(0-9 and cursor keys) in a much friendlier way.
Ok have fun, do try to store some of your puzzles and inform me
if you want them to be added to the list of built-in puzzles,
