Hi all,
I've created sudoku generator with difficulty. Now I want to test it out. I'd like to test that my "easy" level is easier than "medium" level, "medium" level is easier then "hard" level, etc.
Is there any sudoku rating software that can classify sudoku to a certain difficulty level? Are there any other method to test difficulty level except with try to solve it manually?
Many Thanks. |

Widely used, free, easy to install, and self-explanatory is Sudoku Explainer.

The difficulty of the grid , is dependant on the solving technique used to solve the board.
eg. if the board was solvable using scanning, then it is easy.
if the board was solvable using x-wing then the grid is deemed difficult.
there is a table of difficulty somewhere out there, shouldn't be to hard to find. |

You can test difficulty by defining solution strategies for each difficulty, and finding the first strategy that solve the puzzle |
