I have posted a program at www.SuDoku.funURL.com
One person has reported that it cannot be downloaded. Could you give it a try?
I sent that person an EXE via email and then it was reported that it was not possible to save/load games.
? I have tried it on various computers with no problem, but wonder if there are others who have that problem.
If you are able to download and unzip the program (it is a simple EXE that does not do any automatic install stuff, you have to unzip.) then please enter a few numbers and do a save and subsequent load and report what happens.
Thanks!!!

Works fine for me on W2K pro.
(One minor buggette report - the library window is resizeable, but I guess it's not meant to be.) _________________ Simes

Thanks, Simes!
I guess both frames are resizable. I didn't bother to specify and that must be the default.
I guess no big deal, but maybe next release I will see if I can stop that. No need to allow resize if it doesn't help the user.
Thanks again for the W2K pro test.
I have WindowsNT (if you can believe it)
I hope someone with other OP systems, like 98, can test.

Say, Simes,
I often have problems solving SuDoku that are solved when someone simply points out some obvious pair, etc. that I simply blindly overlooked.
Well, I have the same problem here:
http://www.simes.clara.co.uk/sitemap.htm
I see flashy and beautiful pictures of software but I can't find the button anywhere that would allow me to download or order or anything. Just look at descriptions.
Do I require Java or something to see that? Or do you not distribute any of that, but are just informing people that it exists?

Click at one of the links and you will get to the description page. At the upper-right corner there are links that will get you to the download page.

Sorry Mac, but I've only just seen this post! (In my defense though, I was on holiday.)
It's a site map. The text itself is a link to the page describing that app. On the app's page are the links for download. Although, there aren't any pictures on that page, so, I'm wondering do you mean the index? (http://www.simes.clara.co.uk/) If yes, click on the app name or picture to get to the app's page.

I'm slow, as usual. So slow, I forgot about this thread!
SarC: There is absolutely nothing but blank screen in my upper right hand corner of the Sudoku description page. You call it a download page?
Simes: Here is what I get:
1) I open the sitemap and see a bunch of applications
2) I click on SuDoku and get a page with features, including flashing sudoku puzzle.
3) If I click on the picture, I get an enlarged picture
4) The only other place where my cursor changes to a hand is "pappocorn" which obviously does not lead to a download of V2.4 Sudoku and also a list of newspapers where I can find puzzles.
So Site Map does not lead a random person (me) to a way to download your program, just a bunch of features.
But you supply a hint: forget all about the site map and instead go to the index.
1) Brought up the index. Says "SadMan Software Applications" and has a list of stuff with pictures next to each.
2) Found SuDoku and clicked on the picture. This time, instead of merely getting a bigger picture, I get to the same place as step 2 above, namely
http://www.simes.clara.co.uk/programs/sudoku.htm
which I presume SarC calls the download page.
There is nothing there, particularly nothing in the totally blank top-right corner, which looks remotely like a download line.
Bottom line: I cannot find your program.
I don't much care now, as I finally gave up and wrote one for myself that does everthing I want (except convert images to good stuff like "6-- -12 4-- --2 4-7 ... " But I am still curious. Surely you expect people to be able to find your program. Assuming there is a way, it should be MUCH easier.

What browser do you use? I tested the pages in IE, Netscape, Opera and Firefox. The download link showed up in all of them. Ahhh. You're on a mac - do the browsers behave differently there?

Now THATs progress! Thanks for the effort there, SarC.
I have WindowsNT 4.0 IE5.50
I can report that the area you circled definitely does not appear at all on my view of that page, even when I allow Java (which I rarely do) and use Full Screen. It simply is not there.

It seems that IE5.5 doesn't respect the media attribute on a CSS Import directive, and so was effectively using the print style sheet. The print style sheet turns off navigation links.
It should be better now.
Thanks folks!
