A new variant in exotic sudoku: Jigsaw Killer.
This puzzle is like a regular killer, but it has irregular nonets. You can use killer solving techniques (Innies, outies) and jigsaw solving techniques (LoL) to solve this puzzle.
Here it is:
If you have installed SumoCue, save the following 2 lines in a file. You can open this file with the program:
Code: | SumoCueV1
=14J0=13J0+1J0=18J3=5J3+4J3=16J1=19J1+7J1+0J0+3J0+3J0+3J3=16J3+13J3+6J1+7J1+7J1+0J5=16J0+19J0=15J3+21J3=11J2+6J6=12J1+25J1=19J5=19J5+19J0+21J3+23J2+23J2=11J6=16J6=10J1+27J5+28J5=4J5=18J2+39J2+39J2+33J6+34J6+35J6+27J8+28J5+38J5=16J2+48J2=18J7=11J4+34J6+35J6=10J8+54J8=11J5+48J2+50J7+50J7+51J4+51J4=14J6=20J8+63J8+56J8=10J7+66J7=18J7+68J4+68J4+62J4+63J8+63J8+56J8=9J7+75J7+68J7=16J4+78J4+62J4 |
(sorry about the scrollbar, but it is a long line)
Enjoy the puzzle, and please give me some feedback.
Ruud.
P.S. The .sum file format used by SumoCue is really simple:
The first line identifies the data as a SumoCue save and version number. The second line contains the data.
= or + marks a new cell
= is used for the first cell in the cage. The cage ID equals the cell index (zero-based) The next number is the cage sum.
+ is used to add a cell to a cage. The following number is the cage ID.
J is used in Jigsaw Killers. The number (0-8) identifies the nonet.

Your variant may not be new. I found a variant called Logidoku Killer or Logikiller in the "Photos" section of the Yahoo group Sudokuworld.
The creator of that variant described it as "a combination of Logidoku (The numbers 1-9 appear exclusively in each row, column, nonet, long diagonal, and colored irregular group) and Killer Sudoku (The numbers in each cage must add up to the number within the cage with no repeating numbers)". |

By the way, can anybody show me how to post graphics or photos of Sudoku grids in this forum? |
