An interesting page, but how does your method cope when you come up against this puzzle, for example?

Or other Sudoku that can't be solved with the techniques you outline on the page? I believe there are quite a lot of them, although I've yet to see one in a newspaper that can't be solved by testing for:

Single value in a cell
Single value in a row/column/block
Candidates appearing in specific row/column in a block
