Hrmph, so the players' forum temporarily (I hope) went to the dogs, thanks to a no-good kid with too much spare time... Evil or Very Mad

Here's hoping Pappocom has good backup routines!

If anyone hears word about when things are back up, feel free to drop a note.

Hi there Vidar,

This has been happening quite often lately but for very short periods of time.

They hacked into their site in early January & they promised increased security.

I'm not sure what the problem is this time

OK, I'll just happily assume that they have a decent backup system then, and dig out a fresh can of patience. Smile

The thought of losing all the reference information in the forums was giving me a horripilation Exclamation (look it up) Wink

Thanks for the notice.

If this thread goes any further off topic, I fear a moderator may come breathing down your neck with their halitosis Very Happy.

Hey, this is the Random Thoughts forum. If we didn't go off-topic, we'd be violating the purpose of the forum. We wouldn't want anyone to antifloccinaucinihilipilificate it, right? Wink

Not to overly increase your weltanschauung, but I wouldn't hold my breath before Mr. Gould fixed the site. The last time the site was hacked, though he promised increased security, the posts that went missing never returned. In fact, one whole section of the forum including his suggested terms, etc. has been awol since then. Also, he's been trying to sell the domain -- sudoku.com.

I think there is at least some chance that all that material is gone for good.

No, I think Wayne & Scott are too professional for that.

I registered there 1 week ago, but it says that registration has to be confirmed manually by an admin, and still I haven't been activated. Sad
