Synthetic Sudoku
There is a free Java-based Sudoku program at www.SyntheticSudoku.co.uk. It has the following features:
- Puzzle generator creates random puzzles with rotational symmetry.
- Multiple difficulty levels.
- Sophisticated hint system.
- Competition mode in which two players compete over a network to solve the same puzzle.
- Enter a puzzle by hand (e.g. from a newspaper).
- Solve a puzzle.
- Print puzzles.
- Save a game in progress.
Java is required, but then it can be used on any operating system. The latest version is 1.0.1. The file provided is a .jar file. Further instructions are on the download page.
