MPQ Sudoku is a Sudoku solver/helper program for the Windows platform.

It has the following build in solving techniques covering eight difficulty levels:

- Two String Kite - Insane
- Skyscraper - Insane
- XYZ-Wing - Insane
- Simple Coloring - Insane
- Jellyfish - Kamikaze
- WXYZ-Wing - Kamikaze
- Multi Coloring - Kamikaze
- Finned X-Wing - Kamikaze
- Sue-de-Coq - Kamikaze
- Aligned Pair Exclusion - Kamikaze
- Unique Rectangle - Kamikaze
- Avoidable Rectangle - Kamikaze
- Extended Aligned Pair Exclusion - Kamikaze
- Short Nice Loops - Kamikaze
- Short Alternating Inference Chains - Kamikaze
- XY-Chain - Extreme
- Aligned Triple Exclusion - Extreme
- Long Nice Loops - Extreme

Sudokus not solvable by those techniques are rated to the extra Outlaw level.

MPQ Sudoku...
- includes almost all 17-clue sudokus from Gordon Royle and The University of Western Australia.
- includes part of the Top 50.000 sudokus from Ruud.
- has a build in extended Hint function.
- has the ability to customize the hint-colors.
- can import other sudokus by different manners (typing, pasting, Drag 'n' Drop).

MPQ Sudoku requires minimum 1024x768 screen settings.
MPQ Sudoku is Freeware and can be downloaded from my website.

I am not happy with the colours in the given example.

I don't see why the eliminated is nearly the same colour as the pattern.

Version 2 of MPQ Sudoku is available as beta [Click].
MPQ Sudoku 2 comes with less bundled sudoku's, but has an integrated sudoku generator for the first six levels instead.
Installing this version will not replace the previous version (v1.4) but will co-exist next to it.
Best times were approached in another way now: Each level keeps track of it's best level time and average level time. Each puzzle keeps track of it's own best time.
