|
|
Hi fellow Sudoku programmers,
At several occasions we discussed the usefulness of a benchmark set of sudokus. Many programmers are using dukuso's top1465, top95 or Gordon Royle's minimal sudoku list to test their solvers.
I have a Benchmark List now on the Player's forum.
Members on the player's forum have been very helpful in improving the list, so I will maintain it over there (bigger audience too )
Ruud.

I have added a few more examples of subsets, so that rows, columns and boxes can all be tested.

thanks for the puzzles
I've also been collecting puzzles for a technique taxonomy and found
it useful to use a pencilmark grid to get the puzzle to the point
where the technique is applied
this way variables like solving order and techniques applied per step can
be factored out -- making the collection useful for other solvers and humans too |

and then I'll add to what you post
could you mark the techniques/comments somehow so the
post can be used as data? something like
# foo-wing
or
"foo-wing"
thanks |

OK, I added all the candidate grids that are useful.
comment lines now have a # prefix.
I also posted this list in the player's forum. We can also get a little help from the people there.
Thanks for all the good suggestions.
