Just when I thought I had mastered Sudoku, I got stuck on a puzzle from the web. Reluctantly I used the HINT function and it came up 'Exclude based on xy-wing'. I cannot find any explanation for this process under the HELP command. Can someone please fill me in ? Thanks. |

With no disrespect to Andrew at ScanRaid, I find quite a number of his namings confusing and quite contrary to common practise.
Perhaps the most confusing is he sees naked pairs as synonymous with conjugate pairs, and I'm still not sure what he means by "locked pairs" since they don't seem consistently to be applied to what most of us call conjugate pairs.
