I am going to ease into puzzles with more advanced techniques.

Anything goes, pretty much, but I will start with short chains/ALS/sue de coq and such.

Methods I won't bring attention to: x-wings, finned-x, sashimi-x,
xy-wing, xyz wing, turbot, 2-string kite, ER, UR 1 to 4, remote pairs,
swordfish or related sashimi/finned same, jellies or sashimi/finned same.

Methods that I know pretty well that are not really wapati norm but are wapati +: w-wing, simple m-wing, m-wing with extra strong link pair, xy-chain, xy-x chain (short), sue de coq (short...small, whichever LOL),ALS, ALS XZ (short), UR types 5 and 6, hidden UR.

All other methods may be included, by accident. Smile

There are a lot of "possibles" here.
Swordfish, jellyfish are favorites of mine, the jelly avoids a hidden UR.
Unavoidable are 4-cell xy-chain, 4-cell Sue de Coq and one of: 4-cell xy-chain / W-wing.

It took me 17.34 minutes to solve this last puzzle using 3d colours, and if I had been sharper, I am sure I would have managed it in under 15 minutes. I consider 30 minutes to be a reasonably difficult puzzle, and 45 minutes to be more of a challenge. This last puzzle was easy.

I realize that not everybody likes using colours but it really is a very powerful technique, and once I programmed it into my solver, I have spent more and more time using it. I am curious how long it takes others to solve puzzles of this level and what techniques they used. Do people become faster and faster at what ever techniques they master?

In was thinking of programming the techniques I use in solving puzzles, but it is quite complex, because even though I call it 3d colours, I am using everything I know about other sudoku techniques at the same time.
